Our History
Knowledge passed down from generation to generation
A restaurant, a family, a passion.
It all began in the early 1900s with Odile Ehrart, who added a small restaurant to the family farm. Her son Joseph and his wife Elisa helped her, and later their daughter Marie-Rose and her husband Jules expanded the restaurant that welcomes you today.
During the post-war period, the women of our family ran the restaurant and instilled in it the values that are still ours today: good food, a warm atmosphere, and, of course, a love for hospitality.
It quickly became a vital hub in the Osthouse region, where we regularly celebrate birthdays, First Communions, weddings, and host other family gatherings. Today, we still delight in welcoming the descendants of those same families!
Our current chef, Jean-Philippe Hellmann—the son of Marie-Rose and Jules—learned to cook alongside his grandmother Elisa before embarking on a prestigious career that included a stint at the Auberge de l’Ill.
The family farm and its conversion into a hotel
The family farm located on Rue du Château in Osthouse is about to get a new lease on life. Brigitte and Jean-Philippe are transforming this former working farm into a charming hotel: the Hôtel à la Ferme is born!
The hotel quickly becomes a delightful second home, welcoming guests from both Alsace and abroad.
Brigitte is responsible for the unique decor of each room and, over the years, has given the Hôtel à la Ferme its traditional and welcoming charm.
A story of family and passion
The story continues, as Brigitte Hellmann, along with her husband Jean-Philippe Hellmann, her children Anna and Pierre, and her nephew Paul, are dedicated to making you feel right at home!
We are very proud to be a family-run business and to offer our guests a warm and friendly service.
